Peking Duck-the most famous food in China

Peking Duck is a delicious dish in China. It has a 600-year history and to now it's still very popular.

Peking Duck making method is more complex. It's traditionally roasted in either a closed oven or hung oven. While the ducks are cooking, the chef may use a pole to dangle each duck closer to the fire for 30 second intervals. Almost every part of a duck can be cooked.

The Quanjude Restaurant is the most famous restaurant to eat Peking Duck in Beijing, they even served their customers the "All Duck Banquet" in which they cooked the bones of ducks with vegetables.

Trust me, if you eat, you'll love it.

  1. Thanks for this Jessie.

One thing that surprised me is that you called it PEKING Duck - not BEIJING duck. Why?

I love eating this - I love the whole process of wrapping the duck meat in that flat bread kind of thing and I love the sweet-ish plum sauce stuff too.

I'm sure the ones in China must be much better than the ones here, of course. That Quanjude Restaurant looks amazing. Have you ever been there? is it expensive?
