Me and My sister

Hi everyone .

I'm Shinya Nakamura. Please call me Shinya!

First, I want to tell you about myself.

I'm from Japan and I lived in Yokohama in Japan.

I am a student in the second year at the University and mainly study economis and aommercial science.

I belong to a string orchestra club and play the viola in my club. At first, I have played the violin for 12 years on and off. When I entered the university, I change the music instrument and started to play the viola. This picture was taken in the regular concert. We played Tchaikovsky : Serenade for strings.
I really like listening to classical music, much as playing it, so I'd like to go to the concert in London.

My hobbies are reading, playing tennis, cooking, especially making a cake.

I sometimes bake a cake on weekend in Japan.

Next, I'd like to introduce you my older sister. Right person is her boyfriend in this picture. They are engaged and are going toget married next year. This picture was taken after the piano concert this July.
She play the piano very well. She started to play the piano at the age of 4 and went to school of music. Now, she is a research assistant at Tokyo University of the Arts.

She is very creative and open and clever. I get on well with her. We often go shopping on weekend and sometimes play the music instruments together.

I would like to introduce my friends next time.

I hope I can see a lot of pictures and know everyone well on this blog.

Thank you.

  1. Thanks so much for posting this Shinya.
    It was really interesting.

You sound like you come from a really musical family.
Do you and your sister every practise together?
And do either of your parents play any musical instruments?

I'm sure you'll find loads of concerts to go to here in London. My dad is really keen on classical music and when I was younger, he used to try and get me to enjoy it too, but it never really did anything for me. I listen to a lot of jazz, though, and I think I have the same feelings about jazz as he does about classical music.

    It's great that like cooking.
    Me too!

I'm not very good at baking, though.
My wife does amazing cakes, but I usually do main courses - all kinds of different things, but especially Asian.

    Hugh
